The Men's Club Serves God and Community PHOTOS HERE
Posted May 3, 03:27 PMA GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the Men’s Club BBQ Team for all their work, talent, time and effort in making our SIXTH SEMI- ANNUAL BBQ for the Homeless another great success!
Men’s Club President, Bob Juckniess said:
“I measure success by the amount of joy, spirit, and happiness you bring to those you serve. This being the criteria, you had a fantastically successful afternoon by providing an afternoon full of fun, conversation, music, and food to more than 700 very appreciative homeless people at the St, Joseph the Worker/Lodestar campus.”
“We received many comments from those we served expressing their individual thanks and appreciation of our continued PRESENCE and CARING.” These sentiments were echoed by the St. Joseph the Worker/Lodestar Staff.
Amy Caffarello, Executive Director of St. Joseph the Worker, said “St. Patrick’s Men’s Club Group hosts the most well run, best food, efficient fun BBQ’s of any they have, and their clients look forward with great anticipation to our coming.”
Bob notes the following stats:
The Setup Team got us going in 45 minutes and kept us supplied with needed items all afternoon
The Grill Team overcame a burner problem and began 30 minutes ahead of schedule grilling 720 hamburgers and 720 hotdogs
The Serving Team handed out:

720 hot dogs and buns
750 bags of potato chips

The Serving Team for people with special needs delivered 82 meals to the disabled
The Water Team handed out 1376 chilled bottles of water
Photographer, Mary Juckniess, took individual pictures of each of the people we served at their request, spoke to each of them, and provided them with a personal printed photo as a keepsake.
The Outreach/Cleanup Team greeted and provided pleasant, spirited conversation to most of the 720 people we serve while maintaining a clean campus.
The Entire BBQ Team provided 32,000 smiles to those who needed one and 125,000 kind words to those who really appreciated them
