The Edge Retreat: What an Awesome Experience!!!

Our theme for The Edge retreat was “Into the Mystery” and it was an incredible experience for all who particiated!

We explored the mystery of God. For many middle school youth, God can seem to be big and impersonal. The retreat explained that God, although far beyond our comprehension, can still be known through gifts that God has given us: the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture and Tradition as well as the Sacraments and one another as members of the Body of Christ.

The middle school youngsters who were on the retreat truly experienced spiritual conversion this weekend and now want to experience Jesus in a deeper and more personal way. Plus they had tons of fun!!! Not only did we have powerful sessions but we also had the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Mass with Father Eric.

The retreat gave the kids a way to look at their lives and evaluate where they needed God’s love and forgiveness, and evaluate they did! Their testimony at the end of the retreat was absolutely beautiful and profound.

Special thanks goes out to The Edge Team who worked so hard to put this retreat together. Plus thank you to the band who gave up their weekend to provide the gift of music. And finally…..an awesome, incredible, inspiring thank you goes out to all of our Edge core members who unselfishly ministered all weekend to our middle school kids. They did an unbelievable and remarkable job working with our middle schoolers this weekend. We are so blessed to have them as part of our Catholic Community of St. Patrick, these are people who are truly living out their baptismal call.
