Pillow Project

Posted May 14, 08:37 AM

On Wednesday, May 12th, a group of women from St. Patrick Catholic Community brought 130 pillows to the Sojourner Center for abused women. Purchasing a pillow for $20 from Private Quarters consultant and parishioner, Linda McVey, St. Patrick parishioners and others helped to comfort women in crisis. As Director of Major Gifts for Sojourner said during a tour of the facility, “It’s more than just a pillow.” He explained that for many of the women in the center, a pillow of their own represents a first night of full sleep without being awakened in the middle of the night by their abuser. We thank Linda McVey for bringing the “Pillow Project” ministry to St. Patrick to support Domestic Violence victims which number one out of three in Arizona.
