WHAT’S THE SPIRITUAL SEASON?

We highlight milestones and holidays in our “Spiritual Season” column …
The major festivities this week surround the end of the traditional 12-day cycle of Christmas. Depending on your ethnicity and affiliation, holidays may be called Twelfth Night, the Feast of Theophany, Dia de los Reyes and especially Epiphany. On Sunday, January 10, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates its traditional Feast of the Baptism of Jesus—and adds on a National Vocation Awareness Week. Before all that happens, Catholics recall the first American-born citizen to be canonized as a saint. Do you know who that is?
Find all the news and fascinating Web links on these occasions in Setphanie Fenton’s current edition of “What’s the Spiritual Season?”

Chime in at the OurValues.org Project!
In keeping with the New Year’s theme, Dr. Wayne Baker explores our attitudes toward 2010 from a secular perspective.
His pioneering Web project in “civil dialogue on challenging issues” focuses specifically on the values that fuel our choices.
The OurValues.org audience grew significantly in 2009, but only a small number of daily readers dared to jump into the online conversations by adding comments. In 2010, we hope to encourage many more of you to type a few words in that ongoing global dialogue!
Today, if you want to do a quick “good deed” to strengthen the online community, stop by OurValues.org and express yourself.
