MOMS Welcome Back Coffee!
Posted Sep 2, 02:51 PMSimplify, Surrender and the Power of Adventure
Women who have taken the journey of MOMS 101 greeted and reconnected with each other last week over coffee in the narthex. Those seeking to find out more about the upcoming MOMS 101 sessions had their questions answered. For more information CLICK HERE.
Embrace sessions for those having completed MOMS 101 will be held concurrently with the Wed. morning sessions. Outreach efforts for the fall will be focused on supporting Roadrunner School.
Parishioner, author and member of the MOMS community, Susan Pohlman, spoke to the group about the over-scheduled lives many of us lead. “We leave no time for God’s grace to be revealed,” she said. “We seek to plan and control our every moment….Our feelings of worth become tied to accomplishing our daily checklist.” Susan invited us to simplify and surrender by changing our focus from accomplishing everything on our to-do list to these priorities: God first, spouse second and children/family third. She encouraged us to leave time open for God to fill in the check marks in between as He reveals himself to us. Finally, she suggested using the power of adventure to unite our families. “Any sort of leaving your routine is an adventure,” she said. She urged us all to begin to pay attention to and enjoy “the moments that matter.”
