Host Families Needed for International Students at Notre Dame Prep
Posted Aug 12, 08:40 AMAcademic Year in America (AYA), is in urgent need of host families for International Students to be placed at Notre Dame Preparatory School. The AYA is a program of the American Institute for Foreign Studies (AIFS) sponsored by The State Department.
All kinds of families are eligible, so having a student of the similar age is not a pre-requisite. All couples are asked to apply with or without children; age of the applicants and their family is not a factor.A host family’s responsibility is to provide the student with a bed of his or her own, a place to study, and breakfast and dinner. The most important qualification is a desire to share the American way of life and culture with a student as a way of furthering international understanding.
Since school has already started, please contact Sherry Satta, AYA local coordinator at 602-615-8145 or sdsatta@gmail.com as soon as possible. The family needs to go through the application process and be accepted before Notre Dame’s Aug. 22nd deadline.
If interested, be sure to indicate you were referred by St Patrick’s Scottsdale, as AYA will make a $500 donation to our parish if you become a host family.
