Fr. Andre's presentation "The Laity of the Church of Vatican II"

Fr. Andre broke open two significant documents of the Second Vatican Council on Wednesday evening, to the appreciation of a well-filled church. In explaining Chapter IV of Lumen Gentium (The Dogmatic Constitution on the Church), Fr. Andre reminded all that the faithful “by baptism are incorporated into Christ, are placed in the People of God, and in their own way share the priestly, prophetic and kingly office of Christ, and to the best of their ability carry on the mission of the whole Christian people in the Church and in the world.” Fr. Andre showed how the Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity, also from the Council, reiterates the same message, demonstrating the strength of the world bishops’ commitment to the fact that Christian baptism gives each and every one an apostolic mission in the Church and in the world. Nearly 300 people attended.
