Funeral Hosts/Hostesses

The Church is to be a sign of God’s Kingdom in the world. Ministers of the Word engage the parish community in thoughtful reflection on the Word of God through proclamation of the scriptures, prayers of the faithful, responsorial psalms, general intercessions and petitions. The Edge Core Team Member

The EDGE Core Team Members are the heart and soul of the middle school youth ministry experience. In teams of two or three, EDGE core members lead small group discussions and activities. Session plans are distributed to core members a week in advance for review and preparation. Members remain within the same group throughout the year. They have opportunities to volunteer in leading, opening and closing prayers, performing skits or giving witness/catechetical talks to large groups.

Training provided includes team building. A weekly commitment to Sunday liturgy (Mass) is required plus a commitment to serving as a Christian role model with a desire to minister to middle school youth through the love of Christ.

Rite of Christian Initiation - Children

This process is for families wishing to have their children, ages 7 to 17, receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Parents and children are welcomed into the church and prepared for the sacraments by attending weekly sessions. Parents serve as sponsors for their children and participate in a variety of activities.

Rite of Christian Initiation - Sponsor

A sponsor is a member of the parish community who, functioning as a trusted companion, accompanies adults wishing to become members of our Catholic faith on their journey. A sponsor prays with and for the candidate, listens attentively, and acts as a mentor.

Sponsorship affords many opportunities for spiritual growth. The sponsor participates in all aspects of the Christian Initiation journey. Sponsors often report extraordinary experiences where prayer and moving faith stories have been shared. Sponsors typically find their involvement in the initiation process to be a life giving, life changing experience.

Rite of Christian Initiation-Team

Individuals with a deep and active faith: a love of people: a listening ear and on the journey of faith are encouraged to serve on either the adult or family teams. There are various roles on the team: hospitality, inquiry, sponsor training, session facilitator, and retreat team. This ministry is a member-driven organization providing support, resources and connections for successful employment transition. It is a volunteer program run by members, with career management expertise generously donated by business professionals. Grief Support Ministry

To help bereaved members of the parish, a certified grief counselor conducts regular support group meetings designed to help the grieving better understand the grief healing process. It also gives all who participate the opportunity to share what they are feeling, and learn from each other along the way. The meetings are relaxed, casual, non-threatening, and open to all those suffering and grieving over losses of any kind.

MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing)

Often mothers are too busy giving to others and forget to give to themselves. This is an opportunity for mothers of all ages and stages to take time for themselves to grow spiritually, emotionally, and individually. Twice a year a structured group program offers peer ministry, self-discovery, and prayer to women who are seeking a deeper connection to God, themselves, their family, and to their community.

After completing "MOMS 101," ongoing opportunities for growth and connection are available - through continued gatherings with newly formed group and/or through Monday MOMS who meet Monday mornings throughout various times of the year. Childcare is availble for Monday mornings.

The HomeBase Youth Services ministry provides support to homeless and runaway youth who lack the most basic needs of food, clothing and shelter, and basic life skills to prepare them for a brighter future. This organization provides support and community building by the men of the parish. Their monthly meetings promote camaraderie in both a spiritual and social atmosphere between the members and the parish. Child Care/Nursery

Nursery/Nursery Ministry: St. Patrick Catholic Community nursery provides a safe and supervised childcare environment during Saturday and Sunday Masses to allow parents to worship more attentively. Pagers are provided for contact if parent needs to return to the nursery for any reason. Age-appropriate activities are planned to be fun and are faith-based. Open to little ones age 1 (and walking!) to age 4. Ages 4 and older attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Parents are requested to commit to volunteer in nursery at least once a month. Adult and teen volunteers are needed for all Masses. Flexible schedule. Love for children and personal commitment a must! Louis Pasteur tells us “When I approach a child, he inspires in me two sentiments: tenderness for what he is and respect for what he may become.”
