Every Sunday when we gather for liturgy, it is the one time in the week when we as a Catholic community have the ability to touch the hearts of the majority of our people with the love and joy of Christ. It is an incredible moment in the life of the Church when we have the opportunity to transform members of the assembly gathered for liturgy into an active and vibrant community. If we want to renew the Catholic Church, then liturgy must be the fundamental place where we put our attention and understanding. The intent of this web page is to provide a greater insight and understanding into the mass. The goal of the liturgy is to transform people's hearts to Jesus Christ. We do not come to liturgy for ourselves, but so that others can experience Jesus through the Word, the Eucharist, and us. This is what the life a Christian is all about: dying to self so that others can experience new life in Christ. The mass is not private prayer, but community prayer, and as baptized Catholics we have a responsibility to make sure people are experiencing Jesus at mass.
